LEED ID+C: Commercial Interiors v3 - LEED 2009

Von Haucke Showroom

(Awaiting performance data)

Based on how the market is transforming, the company needed to change its image of stewardship. This change led to modification in the manufacturing of furniture and improvements in the office. One step was to conduct LEED CI certification for its showroom and office.

Vonhaucke is the first Commercial Interiors project to achieve LEED-Platinum certification in Mexico. Vonhaucke is dedicated to manufacturing office furniture and workspace design.
Vonhaucke wanted a new location, a better one. Making the decision on the location of the new space was based on the need to be near efficient public transport options, a variety of services, and to be in a pedestrian’s zone. For Vonhaucke, this was a priority. This is why the Torre Magenta building was selected. Although lower cost offers were available, these services were located in remote places where all of the above conditions did not apply.

The new showroom and office is located on the top of Torre Magenta. The showroom is enclosed in a double height space and the offices within different levels. The design was created to provide all spaces with natural light and views. The greatest interest was in increasing the productivity of its employees, so they could occupy a space where they can feel motivated.
The LEED certification process began during schematic design, and from the beginning, the whole team worked very hard to pursue the credit requirements, as they understood very well the benefits.
The project had a big impact on saving water, energy, use of better materials and improved indoor air quality, all thanks to the work of the integrative team.
To Vonhaucke, engaging in the process of LEED certification led the company to be one step further in changing the furniture manufacturing process. Vonhaucke is committed to sustainability and continues to improve its practices.
“After almost one year of living in our space, it has been an overwhelming experience. We came with enthusiasm to work, enjoy the city views and the natural height. My collaborators and I are happier people that work harder each day, as a designer the answer is that the space inspires: liberty and harmony for creation” - Pablo Caso - Director of Innovation, Vonhaucke
